Stillness in Bhutan
A 14-day spiritual journey through Bhutan's sacred valleys — monasteries, meditation and mountain quiet
Overview
Stillness in Bhutan leans into monasteries, prayer-flag ridges, old temple courtyards, quiet forest paths, and the gentle rhythms of Bhutanese life. Rather than packing every day, it gives space for dawn walks, tea, contemplation, and restorative touches such as a traditional hot stone bath and a Bhutanese cultural evening. The route moves through Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, the serene glacial valley of Phobjikha, and on into Bumthang — the spiritual heartland of the kingdom — before returning to Paro.
Highlights
- Taktsang Monastery — a pilgrimage hike to Bhutan's most sacred cliffside site
- Traditional hot stone bath (dotsho) after the Tiger's Nest ascent
- Retreat day in Phobjikha valley — silence, open skies and mindfulness
- The great temple circuit of Bumthang — Kurjey, Jambay and Tamshing Lhakhang
- Mebar Tsho, the Burning Lake — one of Bhutan's most revered sacred sites
- Bhutanese cultural evening with traditional music and dance
