Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek

Six days of high-altitude trekking through shimmering alpine lakes and panoramic Himalayan ridges

Overview

The Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek is one of Bhutan's most rewarding high-altitude routes — a six-day traverse through a landscape of glacial lakes, alpine meadows and bird-rich conifer forest, reaching a highest point of 4,300m. What sets this trek apart is the view: on clear days, an extraordinary sweep of Himalayan peaks is visible from the high ridges — including Everest, Kanchenjunga, Jhomolhari, Masanggang and Jichu Drake. Graded moderate, it rewards effort with solitude and scenery that few trekking routes anywhere can match.
